Tasha de Vasconcelos was born in Beira, Mozambique to a Portuguese father and an English mother. Her career as a Top Model and Actress took her to Paris, New York, Los Angeles and London but she always remained extremely attached to Africa and the country of her birth.
In Monaco where she resides, she took the personal iniative of creating the AMOR Association. Also, Tasha de Vasconcelos was officially appointed "Special Campaigner for HIV/AIDS for children in Africa" by UNICEF
My passion, as goodwill volunteer for UNICEF, is one of the key features in my life. It is so easy to go about our daily lives in ignorance of the suffering and inequality faced by so many young people in the world today. Observing the plight of children in need has been a humbling experience for me and has profoundly affected my life. Our hectic lifestyles and relative affluence are put into perspective when one works in the field. I will always remember my first time in the field as it was a truly life-changing experience.
I was expecting to be overwhelmed by the suffering but instead I was touched by the love and warmth shown and shared by these children.
