Tasha deVasconcelos was born in Beira,Mozambique, to a portuguese father and an English mother.Her career as a supermodel and actress took her to Paris,NewYork, LosAngeles and London, but she always remained extremely attached toAfrica and the country of her birth.

This profile brought her back to her true life's journey, and over ten years of humanitarian work, returning her toAfrica in 1996with the NelsonMandela Children's Fund, then UNICEF in 1999 in Bolivia, andAlgeria, and finally in 2006 back toMozambique the land of her birth as UNAIDS special Campaigner for Children with HIV.

Fromthis trip in 2006, her fondationAMOR -AideMondiale Orphelins Reconfort - was born. In 2009, 27thApril she became the first and only ambassador of the Institut Pasteur, the place where the AIDS virus was first identified.A great cause and a great honor for her.

In Monaco, where she resides, she took the personal initiative of creating the AMOR Association to make a difference for the underprivileged children of the world.

On the 8th of march 2010 "International Women's Day" president José Manuel Barroso gave toTasha deVasconcelos a new mission as ambassador for European Union for Humanitarian Causes.Her mandate - last through until 2015-.

2010 saw the publication of her autobiography "Beauty as a weapon" and she was also the
subject of a documentary "La Belle Humanitaire" devoted to her humanitarian work.
